Remember Me

A Poem

They say time heals all wounds,

but what happens

when time

is the one holding the knife,

slicing away memories,

leaving you to deteriorate

like the garden you once kept so tidy?

They say every wrinkle tells a story

but what happens

when I must remind you

of all the details?

I hope I’ll never

have to remind you

of my name.
